Imagine a space that is completely foreign to your natural instincts yet so peaceful and alluring that you could stay there forever. That is the sea.
Imagine a landscape unexpectedly bizarre and wild, yet so intricately structured as to surpass the most complex of man's creations. That is the sea.
Imagine a world more foreign than the most, yet essential to your very survival in life. That is the sea.
The Sea. It is a world that no single photograph can capture, an experience that requires all the senses to comprehend, and a beauty that no single image can duplicate. As certified divers, we have made hundreds of dives over the last 15 years, and we have taken literally thousands of underwater photographs, attempting to capture the ocean's wonders behind the shutter of our cameras. It is a goal which drives us, but one we will never complete, for the ocean is too vast, curious, and boundless to ever be captured.
Although we will never be able to truly capture the overwhelming splendor ot the sea, we feel compelled to share its glorious images, both for the enjoyment of the viewer's eye and for the benefit of the ocean itself. A world so strange, yet awe-inspiring should not remain hidden.
As a husband and wife team, we have studied photography from Jim and Cathy Church, Jerry Schnabel, Christopher Newbert, Birgitte Wilms, and Galen Rowell. Our photographs come from California, Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Australia, and the Red Sea. Our photographs have been published in Peterson's Photography Magazine, Island Magazine, and Peninsula Magazine, and we have won numerous awards for our underwater photography in both local and international photography contests.
